Spencer’s Plaza was one of the first fully air-conditioned malls in Chennai city and revolutionized retail in this conservative city. Spread over four phases, each phase has an independent entry and atria with shops branching off from these central points. It occupies a prime location on Mount Road. It has three basements of parking and a multi level car park capable of holding upto 1000 cars. Shopping is for three floors with office space above. The exterior façade of is a neat balance of glazing and traditional texture paint and fits well within the context. Phase III recreates the colonnaded experience of the old Spencers around a full height breath taking atrium surrounded by modern shops.
